When Life Gives You Lemons... BLOG

Mike's brother Andrew helped us out by taking a few family pictures for us this weekend. Mike's tolerance for me and trying to control a photo shoot while having my pictures taken is very small. Thankfully, we were able to get a bunch of usable ones quickly! Andrew did a good job (and so did his helpful girlfriend Rachel).

That was the good part, now on with the complaining! Prepare yourselves...

I'm miserable. My migraines are out of control right now and my back hurts. Eryn's having fun refusing to eat or drink anything besides chocolate milk. Brooke thinks it's funny to cry for food and then not want to eat it until I'm about ready to put it away and give up. Mike's been a trooper going to work each day and trying to leave it at the door as much as possible. I know that he's stressed out though.

Our car has decided that 130,000 miles was the point at which he could retire. Jokes on Blitzen! He's just going to have to get repaired and go back to work! Sort of like the rest of us, the car is a little burned out and wants a break, but life has to keep functioning.

Cougars, Oh MY!

The game with TCU here in Provo next Saturday has drawn the eye of the sports world! ESPN's College Game Day will be here and broadcasting LIVE from Provo starting at 8 am (10 eastern)!

We also found out on Sunday that Bronco is doing a fireside with a bunch of guys from the team here at our Stake Center the night before the Utah game.

Swine Flu

WE DON'T HAVE IT!

Today Eryn had round one of the swine flu nasal mist. Luckily, I had the car on the 1 day this month that her doctor's office had it in and just happened to call them to figure out for sure what day Brooke's next appointment was and asked about flu shots! Luck? Nah...

The line at the health department for the adult shot was way long and with 2 little kids there was no way I was going to make it through the wait. Perhaps another day!

I spent the entire day running around from store to store, doctor's offices, and food places only to realize that I didn't barely make a dent in the things that I needed to get done! Again, perhaps another day!

Bronco Sighting!

Last night we went to KSL radio's broadcast of the Bronco Mendenhall Coaches Show live! We had FREE hamburgers that were amazing from Iceberg and saw Bronco up close! Brooke got hungry and cranky and Eryn thought it was fun to run around and scream, so we didn't last the whole time. It was neat to go and see him and take a few pictures too.

Greg Wrubell, Mark Lyons, and Bronco Mendenhall

The paparazzi in full force! (I was the ONLY one with a camera!)

Before this grand event, we went to waste some time at the mall. Eryn was such a good helper pushing the stroller in a serpentine pattern everywhere. I thought Brooke was going to get motion sick from all of the weaving!

I think she liked it though. She was quiet the whole time we were walking around and only cried when it was time to get back into the car!

Noodle Mystery

The Easy Mac Mystery...

The noodles go into the water in every direction.

After cooking they are all standing up! WHY?

Eryn doesn't really care, but it's been driving me crazy!

Cleanin' Up

Today is massive cleaning day around here. It's time to clean things really good, so we can spend another month or so making them filthy again! I told Eryn she could help.

We went to the utility room and I said, "Come on bucket, mop, broom, Mommy says clean up the room!" Eryn started screaming and throwing the worst fit.

WHY? Well, in my intelligence I was sort of quoting from Sleeping Beauty where Merryweather says, "Come on bucket, mop, broom, Flora says clean up the room!" Then, the tools start dancing around and cleaning up the room all by themselves. Eryn was horrified that I had to hold them to make them work!

Moab

While my parents where here we decided that going to Moab and Arches would be something that they would enjoy. Thanks to Enterprise, we were able to take vehicles down there to their new office and we didn't have to pay for gas! We did have to ride around in a 15 passenger van for awhile, but it was worth it.

Delicate Arch from the bottom looking up.

Those crazy Michiganders at Balance Rock!

We'd promised Eryn some lizards, so we were really relieved when she finally found one! It was pretty cool that day and we were starting to get nervous... (He's right on the curb to the left of her shadow. Look close!)

Landscape Arch. Mike hiked a little ways to go see this one. It's one of the thinnest and most likely the next one to fall.

We went to the Sand Dune Arch and Eryn sure had a good time running around in there! It's a nice contained area for kids to take off their shoes and run around in the sand and play. (Thanks to the Peacocks for suggesting it!)

This is the Sand Dune Arch!

We stuck our fingers in the Colorado River!

Brooke was there too!

My Dad was pretty excited to see some new landscapes and take some pictures!
