(This and the next 2 posts were all the same day, but broken up for my sanity while posting today.)
After driving all night we arrived in South Dakota. It was pretty exciting to watch the sunrise together and the children slept in the back of the van. Mike had to jump out so I could take a picture of him going to a new state!
"Hey kids look a deer!" There were quite a few of these running around at dawn. Thankfully we did NOT hit one on our entire trip!
Photography from the moving vehicle isn't my forte, but this was worth a try. The sun rising over the Black Hills.
South Dakota is truly a gorgeous state. The small lakes were warm from the day before and the crisp mountain air had a fantastic mist that just hung in the trees and the mountains.
